
Smithills Hall is one of the oldest and best preserved manor houses in the North West of England. The original Medieval Hall has a fascinating history and the buildings include Tudor and Victorian wings as well as a private Chapel. Smithills Hall is now owned by the people of Bolton.

The Tea Room is open currently open
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday - 10am till 4pm.
We serve our handmade, home cooked, real food alongside, artisan drinks, and handmade cakes & treats.
Breakfast Served 10am till 11:45am
Lunch menu available from 12noon till 2:30pm.
Cake and Treats served all day, last orders at 3:30pm

Lunch Time is usually busy so it is always advisable to Book to guarantee a table! Booking between 12 & 2pm are expected to order from our full menu so we can serve you a delicious lunch.

Delicious Handmade Afternoon Tea that is a perfect balance of savoury and sweet treats. It has to be booked in advance and is £28.50 per person. Simply select Afternoon Tea on our booking system and we'll do the rest.
We also sell Afternoon Tea vouchers that can be purchased in the Tea Room and our Shop.

We now have our Bake & Roast Cake Hole where you can order food to dine al Fresco or to grab something delicious to take with you on a great walk in the grounds. There are picnic tables and bistro sets available for relaxing and dining outside.

As Smithills Hall is a Grade 1 Listed Building & Museum, Dogs are not allowed inside the Hall or Tea Room however our Cake Hole is a perfect alternative with our outdoor seating!
